Milee’s 9 month doctors appointment

Milee is officially 9 months old as of January 18th. Man time flies! We took her to her 9 month doctors appointment on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. I love the 9 month doctors appointment because this is finally one where they don’t get any shots! When we got there the elevator wasn’t working and nobody knew where the stairs were! We finally were able to all pile on one elevator that actually opened. I will admit, I was a bit apprehensive about riding the elevators!

When we finally got there they measured her head- 17.5 inches, close to 50th percentile. Then they had us undress her, which made her mad, and take her to get weighed- 16.7lbs, a little over 10th percentile. Afterwards, she was measured for height- 28inches, 60-70th percentile. Basically, as far as physical development is concerned, she is doing great!

After all of Milee’s measurements, the doctor came in and checked her reflexes, interaction with others, emotion, and other milestones that she should have hit by now. He wasn’t the least bit concerned that she isn’t crawling yet.  He was impressed that she was using her hands so well and that she was so interactive with others, especially her sister. She did show some emotion when he was trying to see her standing, but that just goes to prove that she feels safe around us.

All in all, Milee is doing amazingly well. She is growing and advancing in so many ways! Her favorite past times are slamming her legs down on the floor while she is laying down (will include video later), and rolling rolling rolling around. She also got her first tooth which poked out on December 30, 2011, but officially broke through for good on January 8, 2012. Milee is also progressing to more table foods and is packing away a ton of baby food. She eats more than a cup of cereal and applesauce for breakfast every morning. It’s amazing, but hey, she is a growing girl! We sure love her! Oh and she now has long enough hair for pony tales! Woohoo!
