Milee turned 1 on April 18th, 2012. She is such a big girl and is growing soooo fast! We just love all of her funny, quirky little things that she does. She is such a joy to have in our family and we look forward to many more years of fun and getting to know her.
APRIL 18th: Milee's Birthday!
We decided to make my Grandma Winder's famous Cinnamon Rolls for Milee's birthday breakfast because I had just gotten the recipe the night before. They ended up being more of a mid-day snack but they were so worth it!
We also decorated her cake (we baked it the night before):
The night before:
Ella helped!
She is such a happy baby!
The end product. Great job daddy!:
Didn't it turn out awesomely???!!!
We then went to Buca di Beppo with a gift card from Grandma and Grandpa Smith. YUM!
So sweet to share! She was actually really funny and kinda got upset when we dipped our spoons in!
After we got home we opened presents.
Monkey jammies with shorts and pants (I LOVE Costco jammies for this very reason!)
and 2 Dr. Seuss books "Mr. Brown Can Moo" and "Oh, the Thinks You Can Think" (We are trying to collect them all!).
And had our annual toes painting (I do this on their birthday every year. This was Milee's first time!):
GROSS!
APRIL 19th: Milee's 12 mo Doctor Appointment!
Milee did so well at her doctor appointment. She would do just what the doctor wanted, like standing, if we held on to her. He was really good with showing Milee what he was going to do by doing it to Ella first, then doing it to her. Smart! Here's her stats:
18.1 inch circumference head, 29 1/4 inches tall, 18lbs 3 oz.
Doc wants us to stop giving her formula in about a month and start her on whole milk because he wants us to start "fattening her up". He said that he likes to see 1yr old babies at about 20lbs. I'm not worried. Look at their dad! Ella was also about 18lbs at 1. Milee is loving to eat what we eat and does most of the time. She is so good with her 4 TEETH! She just got her second top tooth right after her birthday. She is getting so big! Doc also told us to give her apple juice about twice a day to help with her #2. She has been doing great since.
She also got 2 shots. 1 in each leg and didn't cry very long at all. I do think that her immunizations had something to do with our April 22nd incident.
APRIL 28th: Milee's Birthday Party!!
We decided to hold off and do Milee's party on the 28th because Jared works most saturdays and the 14th was just too soon for me to get everything together. The night before it was rainy and icky outside and I really worried that the weather wouldn't be nice enough but it turned out just fine. It was sunny and warm enough as long as you were in the sun.
Here's the invitation:
The monkey cake balls that we stayed up until 1:30 am making the night before:
Our appetizer: grapes, strawberries, apples and fruit dip, carrots, sugar snap peas, tomatoes and veggie dip.
The pavilion all decorated:
Posing with the cake balls:
